¡°If I had to sum up my experience in one word, it would be rewarding.¡±

Software is Everywhere

¡°Software is everywhere and it¡¯s critical to almost every part of modern life. It powers medical devices, makes learning accessible, connects people globally, and helps businesses run efficiently,¡± Gungor explains. ¡°Without software engineers, much of what we rely on wouldn¡¯t function.¡±

Software creation is not just a task during his classes, but instead a deep iterative process. Gungor teaches courses such as Software Refactoring and Software Design Patterns, where students not only learn how to scale their code effectively, but make existing code more efficient.

¡°Through hands-on projects and real-world applications, they leave with the skills to adapt to any work environment and the resilience to handle challenges,¡± Gungor reflects.

The demand for software developers continues to grow. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Computer and Information Research Scientist jobs are expected to rise 26% between 2023 and 2033¡ª4% more than the national average. This makes the work of professors like Gungor, whose unmatched expertise informs work-ready students, all the more important.
