Different By Design

Skill-Focused

At Champlain, you won¡¯t just graduate with a degree¡ªyou¡¯ll graduate with four years of experience. We’ve carefully and thoughtfully designed degrees that help you build critical skills, gain practice, and have transformative experiences that prepare you to lead change, not just respond to it.

Flexible

Each program at Champlain is built to accommodate all your interests¡ªnot just the one you choose to major in. With 30 elective credits, you’ll have the freedom to add a double major, intern or research abroad, deepen your skills with a graduate certificate, and build the diverse perspective our complex world demands.

Immersive

Our hands-on learning opportunities have no limits. You’ll turn coursework into experience through project-based General Education courses, and you¡¯ll have access to everything from community partnerships and international travel, to semester-long projects and full-time, paid co-ops.

Immediate

We¡¯ve flipped the script on traditional course sequencing and turned our curriculum upside down. While students at other colleges are stuck in introductory courses, you’ll be solving real problems, working with industry-standard tools, and developing the kind of adaptability that typically takes years to acquire.

An Education That Grows With You

At Champlain, no two students are the same, and that’s exactly how it should be. We give you the flexibility to carve out a college experience that¡¯s as unique and authentic as you are.

Here are just a few examples of what your time at Champlain could look like.

Liam started out in Creative Media because he loved making videos and writing. During a community project, something just clicked¡ªhe wanted to tell stories that actually mattered, ones that could help causes he cared about. So he used his flexible credits to make a documentary in his hometown. Add in some nonprofit internships, and by graduation, he had an amazing portfolio that’s already helping organizations raise money.

Olivia studied Social Work because she wanted to help people, but she felt called to think bigger. She used her flexible credits for a semester in Guatemala, working with kids who couldn’t access education. Seeing that inequality firsthand changed everything¡ªshe knew exactly what she wanted to fight for. Multiple internships with local education nonprofits and an independent research project later, she’s now working nationally on education equity issues.

Noah was studying Business Administration when he met Emma, a Game Design student, during a collaborative project. They discovered a huge gap in gaming accessibility tools and thought, “We could actually fix this.” So they used their flexible credits to take entrepreneurship courses together and found a faculty mentor through one of Emma’s Game Studio Experience classes. By graduation, they’d launched their startup, secured funding, and turned their college idea into a real business.
