Turn Your Passions Into a Career
In the Division of Communication & Creative Media (CCM), each major combines academic understanding with real-world know-how, emphasizing innovation, creativity, and technological expertise. Your understanding won’t just come from a textbook. You’ll work with professionals and a network of industry partners to gain hands-on experience.
Here you’ll find exciting presentations from industry leaders – professionals, artists, authors, and scholars – that complement your classroom learning. Plus, with our Upside-Down Curriculum, you’ll start building your professional portfolio and resume in your first semester. That means you’ll be internship-ready way ahead of your peers at other creative arts schools.
By the time you graduate, you’ll be fully prepared to think and act as an empowered citizen in our media-driven and interconnected world.
Experience-Based Learning
At Champlain, you¡¯ll do so much more than you would at a typical art college. Our interdisciplinary approach emphasizes creative problem solving and fosters innovation and lifelong learning.
Through our Studio Experiences, you¡¯ll collaborate with others in a variety of majors. Put your classroom learning to the test on professional projects in studio-like environments.

Game Studio Experience
Students in our six game majors come together to learn essential professional skills, master technical expertise, and answer the question, ¡°What can we make together?¡±
You¡¯ll develop an understanding of the game pipeline from concept to finished product and gain teamwork experience many people don¡¯t cultivate until they have been working in the industry for years. The best part? You’ll create a fully functional game as a team for your portfolio.
