Zeke Davico

Biography

Physicist with a diverse professional background spanning academia, data analysis, and cryptography. Zeke currently leads InSight, a program dedicated to supporting students throughout their academic journeys by seamlessly integrating educational resources and initiatives into the broader student experience.

Previously, Zeke conducted research in quantum cryptography, where he designed and tested cryptographic algorithms based on quantum principles. His work included building models and simulations to assess the security and efficiency of these cutting-edge techniques. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams of physicists, engineers, and cybersecurity experts, he applied advanced methods to real-world data transmission systems, ensuring their resilience against potential threats.

Before transitioning to research and program management, Zeke spent several years in the education sector, where he developed and implemented a next-generation science curriculum grounded in the latest educational research. This effort was inspired by his work with NSF-supported studies on the peer-led, team-learning model, which has demonstrated success in various university-level STEM courses.

Throughout his career, Zeke has blended technical expertise with a strong commitment to education and mentoring, striving to positively impact academic systems and students’ lives. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing and paddle boarding, reflecting his appreciation for physical challenges and nature. Zeke brings a global perspective to his work, combining scientific innovation with a passion for teaching, personal growth, and problem-solving.

Ethan Garhartt

Biography

Ethan Garhartt brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate spirit to the Career Collaborative team. With a Master’s in Public Administration and an academic foundation in history, economics, and political science, Ethan has spent much of their career working in the healthcare field, where their skills in data analysis and collaboration help colleagues make more insightful decisions.

A natural storyteller, Ethan loves sharing their journey with students, providing them with both guidance and encouragement as they pursue their own career paths. Outside of work, you can find Ethan in the kitchen cooking up something delicious or enjoying quality time with friends. Ethan also loves connecting with colleagues and students—so feel free to stop by the Garden House for a friendly hello and one of Ethan’s signature hearty laughs!

Pat Boera

Biography

A former New Yorker who adopted Vermont as “home,” Pat Boera is an enthusiastic member of the Champlain College Career Collaborative team.

As a University of Vermont graduate who majored in Marketing, Pat uses her expertise every day to help students and alumni market themselves to prospective employers. She worked in the Hospitality Industry out of college, spending time on the management team of two of Vermont’s leading properties—The Tyler Place Family Resort and the historic Middlebury Inn. With this background, she strives to provide five-star service to the varied constituents who are her “customers”—students, alumni, colleagues, employers, and community members. Pat was honored by her Champlain College colleagues with selection as the first recipient of the Elizabeth Durick Staff Service Award.

Pat works hard and plays hard. When she’s not working at her office in the Garden House, popping into classes to present workshops, assisting with InSight initiatives, planning a Career Ed*Venture or 365体育官网ature Event, or helping facilitate the Annual Elevator Pitch Competition, you are likely to find Pat dedicating time to favorite community activities in 365体育官网 and Middlebury. She has been a volunteer with Lyric Theatre Company since college days, working in nearly every behind-the-scenes aspect of productions. She was a longtime House Captain at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts; is a trained Audio-Describer who helps blind and visually-impaired audience members “see” performances; and helped found the award-winning Middlebury Summer Festival on-the-Green.

Pat has been recognized for service with two special awards—The Middlebury College Citizens Medal and as a United Way Hometown Heroes Nominee—and she hopes that this involvement makes her a good role model for Champlain College students and alumni. Pat can’t go a day without reading. She also dabbles in artisan crafts, specifically calligraphy and silk-screening and loves to be in the audience at live theater performances every chance she gets.

Kerry Shackett

Biography

A Massachusetts transplant, Kerry became hooked on Vermont while attending Saint Michael’s College for her undergraduate education. Holding two undergraduate degrees—a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology— two worlds with seemingly disparate career paths. After stints in a large marketing firm, the non-profit sector, and public schools, Kerry discovered a connection within her diverse experiences. This journey led her to the realization that her true passion lay in career coaching.

Presently, Kerry serves as the Associate Director for Career Education and as a Career Coach for the Division of Information Tech & Sciences. She earned her Master’s of Science degree in Executive Leadership and is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator. Beyond her professional life, Kerry embarks on adventures with her husband, Chris, and their two daughters, Kenna and Maeve. Alternatively, you might find her attempting a new British Baking Show recipe, with very varying results, or finding the best cup of coffee in Vermont.

Lynde Wright

Biography

Lynde Wright is a dynamic member of the Career Collaborative Team, making her mark in the field of Employer Relations. With a passion for connecting employers with top talent, Lynde brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role. Armed with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in Marketing from Western Governors University, she possesses a solid foundation in business strategy and relationship building.

With over 5 years of dedicated work in Employer Relations, Lynde has honed her skills in fostering strong partnerships between organizations and job seekers. Her ability to understand the needs of both parties and effectively bridge the gap has resulted in numerous successful collaborations throughout her career.

Prior to her work in Employer Relations, Lynde spent 8 years in healthcare leadership, where she developed a deep understanding of the healthcare industry’s intricacies and challenges. This experience provided her with invaluable insights into managing teams, streamlining processes, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

While dedicating herself to her children’s upbringing, Lynde took an inspiring career break, during which she delved into the world of full-stack software development. Embracing her curiosity and love for learning, she acquired extensive knowledge and skills in this dynamic field. This experience not only broadened her technical expertise but also cultivated her problem-solving abilities and adaptability, making her a versatile professional.

Originally from the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon, Lynde recently made the move to Savannah, Georgia. While working remotely, she enjoys the charm and vibrant culture of her new surroundings. As a mother of three, Lynde finds immense joy in witnessing her younger two children participate in soccer and theater. Their enthusiasm fuels her passion for supporting their growth and nurturing their talents.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Lynde embraces her adventurous spirit. She revels in the great outdoors and finds solace in camping trips and exploring new destinations. An avid traveler, she seeks inspiration from different cultures, immersing herself in diverse experiences that broaden her perspective.

She dedicates her expertise to writing and reviewing resumes for women, single parents, and individuals with career gaps, empowering them to present their unique skills and experiences with confidence.
